Today, Zeno Brothers Construction Inc. has launched “The Cutting Edge,” a social housing ideas and design competition, at La Consolacion College – Little Theater Auditorium. The launching of the event was headed by Ms. Mae Hinojas, Chief Corporate Officer of the Company, and participated by the architecture students of La Consolacion College.

The Cutting Edge is a team competition, with each group composed of 3-5 students and mentored by a professional architect. The teams will first enter the preliminary round, the judging of which is scheduled on 21 October 2014. The top 10 teams will be announced on 27 October 2014 and will then proceed to the final round. Each team will be given 4,000 pesos and each mentor will also receive 4,000 pesos.

The final judging will take place on 20 November 2014. The Chairman of Zeno Brothers Construction Mr. Paolo Zeno and Co-chairman Mr. Antonio Zeno will personally judge the final round of the competition and award the winners. There will be two grand winners, each receiving 60,000 pesos. Consolation prizes will also be given to the other finalists.

This social housing design and planning competition aims to highlight the extraordinary talents and skills of our budding Filipino architects and put them at the limelight of the international construction industry. Their works will be featured on the actual projects of Zeno Brothers Construction and Zeno Group Investments in different parts of the world. Through this competition, these architecture students will be exposed to real-life construction projects and learn how to apply their skills in actual situations.
